Ages and ages ago (okay, maybe a few years) I was scoping out the clearance cassettes (okay maybe it was more than a few years) in the basement of Bradlee's at Union Square (since closed and turned into something which was changed into Whole Foods, etc etc). I was into punk, which was leading me into new wave and 80s music. I found an Erasure cassette. It was of Chorus. I thought, my sis might like this. Besides it's $2.99, what a steal! So I bought it and gave it away. Then months and months later my sis is Erasure-obsessed and now collects imported CDs and singles and orders ridiculous things like Erasure torches (that is flashlights promoting their newest album Light at the End of the World) to this day.
They are doing a signing today at Virgin, where I will play the dutiful photographer and companion much like she did for me at the Mika in-store performance at Borders. So here are some Erasure tunes for today:

Don't get me started. They are the bane of my music collection. They bring my hardcore punk cred down to a -83. Every time I listen to "I Love Saturday" a punk loses his mohawk.
Clearly, "Star" is the worst video on the entire planet. How many bands have that credential to their name, huh?? You bought me the "Pop! 20 Greatest videos" on vhs back in the day so we had no choice to watch all of it, repeatedly. Basically you were the drug dealer injecting Erasure into my unsullied veins. Now I have a tattoo of an Oberheim Xpander on my forehead. Why you did this to me? :( Also, the "Oye Esteban" DVD you bought from Virgin for $10 in 2K1 officially killed me. I don't know who to sue anymore, the record stores with their cheap sales or vous. :(
Heh, I'm nervous already. XD It's going to be the usual disaster meeting them.
PS: I have a character coming out called E. Ray Shore. He's destructive on a global scale.
Another PS: Heavenly Action has a production value of maybe $23 but at least it has semi-charming brats. And what's more Vince now has one of his own, aged 3 or thereabouts! :) The Star vid has no redeeming qualities but is still a good song. But perhaps their worst video ever is the one EvilJames hates the most and that would be "Run to the Sun." (minus the Statham-look alike of course)
As for best video? Either A Little Respect or Sometimes. :)
